SHORTLY ABOUT SITHUTHUKILE TRUST
The first steps in providing children on farms with access to ECD learning were taken in 1987. Pre-schools were set up and equipped with learning resources. An effective trainer was then produced to train women in the community to run these pre-schools.
In 1991, the Middelburg farm pre-school project joined forces with the Ntataise Trust, Free State , in order to formalize and structure the curriculum, training and educational resources in the pre-schools. By 1994, many teachers were well trained and running successful pre-schools.
Currently, Sithuthukile’s facilitators are competent, leading facilitators in their field with ECD Levels 5, 6 & 7 and years of practical in service experience and knowledge, and are fully registered assessors and moderators with the ETDP-SETA.
